Anna jumps. There is a creaking sound coming from somewhere inside the empty house. From upstairs maybe? “Hello?” Anna asks the empty house. She grabs a poker for protection. Just ahead of Anna, a cupboard door swings open. An old woman walks out of it.
“Who are you?” Anna says. Anna looks startled, but the old woman looks scared.
“You must be Anna?” the old women says, staring, almost in disbelief.
“Yes,” Anna replies.
“I knew your mother. We were friends,” the old dear says. “Sorry for barging in, but the door was open.”
“I cannot believe that you are all grown up Anna,” the old lady says. You don’t remember me?”
“No. It’s ... it’s been a long time,” Anna has a perplexed look on her face.
