“Nothing has been done in the House since the 50s,” the old lady says. “You have a lot of work to do.”
“I am just going to clean and tidy and sell,” Anna explains.
“That is good. There is nothing for you here,” says the old lady. “But after everything that has happened, will you be able to sell it?” the old woman asks.
Anna only has vague memories of the place she was brought up as a child, but believes this is the first time she has been in the area and is confused about why people know of her.
Anna smiles at the old woman. “You talk as if there are ghosts here.”
“Do you remember the little girl who disappeared?” the old lady asks, in a serious manner. “She just vanished, from one day to the next. Poor thing.”
“Good to see you again,” the old lady says, and then departs. Anna will spend the night alone in the House. It’s now getting dark.
